Nearly every day I experience an “ah ha” moment. As you become more aware of how everything is connected, don’t be surprised if this starts happening to you, too. Immediately after these ah ha moments, I think, “well, duh.” How come I never put two and two together before?
Jef and I are taking a 10-week Permaculture Design Course. There are many ways to define permaculture, but here’s one of my favorites:
Permaculture is the use of ecology as the basis for designing integrated systems of food production and community development. It offers a practical, creative approach to the problems of diminishing resources and threatened life support systems now facing the world.
Permaculture enthusiasts believe we can change the way food is produced and communities are structured, to better benefit all (people, animals, plants and the environment) — and that this change can happen within our lifetimes.
